We are happy to announce that we have now reopened our facilities. Read more
Due to a volcanic eruption that commenced on the morning of February 8, we took the precautionary measure of evacuating and temporarily closing all our operational units.
Iceland has now experienced a sixth volcanic eruption in the Reykjanes Peninsula since 2021. The country is well-prepared, featuring advanced preparedness protocols, and is equipped with highly experienced geoscientists who have extensive knowledge in managing volcanic activities. Blue Lagoon Iceland is located within an area at risk due to seismic activity. As always, we follow the safety guidelines and recommendations of the authorities and will continue working closely with them, monitoring the progress of events, prioritizing safety and well-being.
According to recent reports from the Icelandic Meteorological Office, it appears that the volcanic eruption has ceased.
Our operating hours have been temporarily adjusted for the Blue Lagoon, now open from 8:00-21:00 (last possible booking at 19:00). For guests with bookings outside these hours, please modify your reservation via My Booking.
