Admission fee
Children aged 13 and younger are admitted free when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Minimum age
The minimum age for using the Blue Lagoon is two years old. This is because children younger than two are highly sensitive to the water’s elevated mineral content.

Floaties
Children aged 8 and younger must wear floaties. These are available at the entrance to the lagoon and can be used free of charge.

Parental supervision
With the depth of water reaching 1.4m/4.7ft., it is imperative that all children using the Blue Lagoon are supervised by a parent or guardian. One adult can accompany a maximum of two children.

Behavior
The Blue Lagoon is an otherworldly body of water. Guests come to experience a sense of wonder and we encourage children to respect the sanctity and serenity of this enchanting environment.

Changing facilities
There are separate changing rooms for men and women equipped with showers and electronic lockers. If you would like more info about our changing rooms and our changing room policies, please contact us.

Electronic bracelets & lockers
Upon check-in at Blue Lagoon, you will receive an electronic bracelet that functions as the key to your personal locker: Just choose any vacant locker, put your clothes and belongings inside, and follow the instructions about how to lock it. While your bracelet is not connected to your credit card, it functions as a cashless payment method during your visit. Anything you purchase needs to be paid for at check out. Also be aware that if you lose your bracelet, you will be charged a fee.

Showering
All guests must shower—without a swimsuit—before entering the Blue Lagoon. Use of Blue Lagoon skin care shower gel and hair conditioner is complimentary. If you desire more privacy while you shower, locate a shower that is equipped with a door.

You are welcome to bring your own towel, robe, slippers or whatever else you might need during your stay.

Yes, access to the Blue Lagoon is included with your stay at the Retreat Hotel. You can freely enter the lagoon from the Retreat Spa. The only limitation is that you must use the lagoon during its normal hours of operation.

In general, entry to the Blue Lagoon is fully booked throughout the year. In order to reserve your desired date and time—and avoid the possibility that the lagoon will be sold out on the day you intend to visit—pre-booking is absolutely essential.

If you need to store luggage, the staff at the spa entrance can assist you. For a small fee, you may also store your luggage at the Luggage House in the main Blue Lagoon parking lot.
