The President of Iceland visits BLUE LAGOON - Geothermal Spa
Cooperation between Icelandic and U.S. health authorities, new Dermatology Clinic and the company’s other future plans, were among the topics discussed on the President of Iceland’s, Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, visit to BLUE LAGOON – Geothermal Spa on November 29th.
Blue Lagoon Ltd. received the President of Iceland’s Award for Export Achievement last spring. The President traditionally visits companies that receive the award. The President was accompanied by representatives from the Trade Council of Iceland, the award committee, and the secretary of presidential office.
The guests were given a tour of the company providing them with an opportunity to learn about the company’s operation. The delegation began by visiting the development and production center followed by visits to the current Dermatology Clinic and the construction site of the new Dermatology Clinic set to open in spring 2005.
Grímur Sćmundsen, Blue Lagoon’s manager, then introduced the company’s future plans and goals but a part of the goals is to increase the number of international psoriasis patients that come for a treatment at BLUE LAGOON - Dermatology Clinic. Blue Lagoon has been working on cooperation between Icelandic and U.S. health authorities with the intention of attaining more psoriasis patients from the U.S. who come to Iceland to have BLUE LAGOON psoriasis treatment.
The visit ended with a lunch at the restaurant at BLUE LAGOON – Geothermal Spa.
