Blue Lagoon receives the Blue Flag

Blue Lagoon has been granted the Blue Flag for 2006. This is the fourth consequtive year Blue Lagoon receives this environmental recognition. The Blue Flag is granted to beaches that have made an extra effort to improve the standard of beaches, marinas, and the environment. Visitors at a Blue Flag beach can be sure that the beach is clean, has clean water for swimming, facilities are well maintained, and that information regarding protection of the environment is available. Iceland is one of more than 30 countries that are a part of the international Blue Flag Campaign.
