Gufa - Laugavatn steam bath

11 September 2007

Early summer 2008 the natural steam bath, by the pristine lake Laugavatn, will open after reconstructions and enlargement. For decades Gamla gufan (Old steam bath) built over a natural  source of hot water is a favoured and traditional place to visit by many Icelanders
The Blue Lagoon will brings its expertise and experience to Laugavatn and run the new facilities. The reconstructions will involve a spa with steam baths, hot tubs, a restaurant and much more.
The architecture of the new building is designed in harmony with the natural environment. The charm of the old steam bath will play an important role. The main goal is to create an attractive place for all members of the family.

On the picture Anna G. Sverrisdóttir. Managing Director of Blue Lagoon, accepts the keys to Laugavatn steam baths.
