Cultural events at the Blue Lagoon in May

02 May 2008

The month of May will be alive with exciting cultural events at the Blue Lagoon. Each Wednesday at 7.30 pm the Blue Lagoon will offer bathing guests to observe different cultural events starting May 7th with a contemporary dance piece called Space-time. The interaction between dancers, time, space and nature is the key input for this piece.

On May 14th the soothing sound of the blues band „Klassart“ will breeze around the Blue Lagoon surroundings. On May 21st the Graduale Choir, including a group of 14-18 year old girls, will in an enchanting way perform some of Iceland‘s most beloved songs.

Actor Bergur Ingólfsson will wrap up the program on May 28th by performing a session of „rubbish poetry“ which he will present both in English and Icelandic.

The events will all be taking place outside for guests to enjoy while relaxing in the lagoon. Lava restaurant will offer a special menu during the cultural events.

Sunday May 18 at 9pm
The Icelandic Pocket Company, a group of well known musicians, will have an unusual music performance at the Blue Lagoon, both funny and educational, going around the world in 18 minutes. It is based on an Icelandic folk song. The event marks the end of the Opening Weekend of the Reykjavík Arts Festival. The Blue Lagoon will extend the opening hours for this event.
