Nordic Congress of Dermatovenereology

04 June 2008

The Nordic Congress of Dermatovenereology was held in Iceland on May 31 – June 3. The congress is held every 3-4 years to allow Nordic dermatologists to add to their knowledge in dermatovenereology in formal and informal education events and to add to their inter-Nordic network. It gathers typically 400-500 participants.
Among the speakers at the congress was the Blue Lagoon Clinic’s senior physician, Dr. Steingrímur Davíđsson, who presented results from a recent study on quality of life of the Blue Lagoon Psoriasis Clinic’s treatment guests. Professor Jean Krutmann also presented results of a study that provides evidence that silica mud and microalgae from the Blue Lagoon geothermal seawater improve skin barrier function. Blue Lagoon invited the participants in the congress to visit the Blue Lagoon – Clinic followed by a relaxing bath in the Blue Lagoon and a dinner and entertainment at the Lava Restaurant.
