Leisure Activities
Our aim is that our guests not only experience the treatment but also enjoy some of the leisure and entertainment possibilities available. We encourage guests to use their time well and build up both body and mind during the stay at the Clinic. The Clinic's location provides access to different leisure activities on site and in the neighbouring area.
A visit to the nearby town Grindavik is a great way to spend the day and there are many local tour operators that will take you to some of Iceland's most famous attractions. Scheduled coach services are also offered daily between the Blue Lagoon and Reykjavik.
Walking & fitness
Taking a refreshing walk and enjoying Iceland's fresh air is an excellent activity for treatment guests. Easy walking routes are located near the Clinic. Bicycles can be rented for a nominal price.
A fitness room equipped with cardiovascular equipments, weight lifting stations and free weight is located at the Clinic. Guests also have the possibility to hire a personal trainer.
Golf
Golf is a popular sport in Iceland and golf players should be pleased to learn that four golf courses are located in the area. Clinic's guests can play at the golf courses for a discounted rate.

Nature
Our location on the Reykjanes peninsula gives us access to scenic beauty by the Atlantic shore and a walk along its beaches is an experience not to be missed. Valahnúkur at Reykjanes is knows for the magnificent view of bird life and the rolling waves pounding in from the Atlantic.
Gardskagi is famous for its light house. Gardskagi is the outermost point of the seaside village, Gardur. A lighthouse was erected there in 1897, the latest lighthouse was built in 1944. Bird watchers should not miss this area during the months of April-May and September-October. Next to the lighthouse is a café where one can have some light refreshment while enjoying the beautiful view of the area.
The bridge between two continents is located at the point where the Eurasian and American plates meet and it is located around a 30 min drive from the Clinic. It provides visitors with a unique chance to walk between the Euroasian and American continents.
The Nature Center in Sandgerði, called Fræðasetrið in Icelandic, is a museum of natural history. The Nature Center has a great collection of stones, birds and sea creatures and illustrates perfectly the interconnections between nature and history.
Local attractions
The Blue Lagoon
Iceland's most popular attraction is located within a 5 min walking distance from the Clinic. A walk or bike ride to this popular destination is ideal. The spa offers different spa treatments and massage that take place in the warm lagoon. Treatment guests get 20% discount on all spa treatments and massages. LAVA restaurant at the Blue Lagoon offers an excellent evening and lunch menu and Blue Café offers light refreshments and drinks.
Saltfish museum
The Icelandic Saltfish museum, located in Grindavíks in a five minute drive from the Clinic, offers visitors a unique view into the core of Icelandic culture and heritage.
Viking Ship
The Viking-ship the Icelander is an exact replica of an old Viking-ship called the "Gaukstad-ship" which was excavated from an ancient burial mound in Norway in 1882. The ship was very well preserved and scientists were able to date it back to 870 AD, the time of the settlement of Iceland. In the year 2000, the viking ship the Icelander made a historic journey to Greenland and America to celebrate the millennium of Leif Eiriksson's journey to the New World. Kaffitár - Coffee factory and a café
Kaffitár is an Icelandic coffee roasting company. Guided tours for groups are offered in its spacious new factory in Reykjanesbæ. Tours need to be booked in advance. A new café is located at the same building offering a wide range of specialty coffee worth trying.
Duus Cultural Center
Located in Reykjanesbær, Duus Cultural Center, houses an exhibition of models that depict 59 vessels from various periods of Iceland's fishing industry.
Whale watching
Seeing whales and dolphins up close in their natural environment is a breathtaking experience. Daily dolphin and whale watching trips are offered from May - September from Keflavík harbor in Reykjanesbær.
Salty tours
Guided tours of Grindavík – an Icelandic fishing village by the sea – and the area surrounding the Blue Lagoon. Grindavík
Grindavík is a charming fishing village located only a five minutes drive from the Clinic. The village is offers a variety of attractions ranging from natural wonders to museums. More at visitgrindavik.is.
Garður
Garður is a small town by the seaside is located in 30 min drive. is an interesting small town near Keflavik International airport. Gerdahreppur has an interesting Local Folk Museum, old lighthouses and rich birdlife.
Reykjanesbær
Reykjanesbær the area's largest municipality is located in 15 minute drive from Blue Lagoon Clinic. Shops, restaurants, movie theatre and museums can be found in Reykjanesbær.
Sandgerði
Sandgerði is a thriving fising village located in 30 min drive. It is one of the country's major fishing communitites in South West Iceland. Rich fishing-grounds are found just off the coast of Sandgerði and good harbour facilities.
Reykjavik
Driving to Reykjavik, the Capital of Iceland takes about 40 min. Reykjavík is a great place to visit for both fun and relaxtation. The city is located on a peninsula surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and with a mountain view. Reykjavík offers its visitors access to nature, rich cultural life, restaurants and shopping. Daily coach service is offered between the Blue Lagoon and Reykjavik.
